Gare du Nord – La Première Pierre III, 2023
Gare du Nord – La Première Pierre is a series of three drawings examining the architectural development of Paris’s Gare du Nord. Red passages refer to the first station constructed in 1846, which was soon considered inadequate and subsequently relocated to Lille. Five years later, the current station was built on the site.
Graphite drawings map the internal spaces of the present-day Gare du Nord, focusing on circulation and spatial structure. The works overlay historical reference and contemporary spatial mapping, using colour and composition to register changes in scale and organisation over time.
