Contraste et indifférence (Part 1)

Sept 11–Nov 23, 2025
Curated: Catherine Bédard
Foundation Grantham, Quebec

Group exhibition with artists: Cécile Hartmann, Isabelle Hayeur, Capucine Vever, and Larissa Fassler

A two-part exhibition, co-produced by the Canadian Cultural Centre and the Grantham Foundation for Art and the Environment.

The artists brought together in the exhibition Contrast and Indifference engage with global issues by entering foreign contexts with care and attentiveness, bearing witness to what unfolds there. Being present in place is central to their approach, as is a form of solitude that fosters observation and encounter. Guided by critical awareness and sensitivity to others, they reveal some of the staggering disparities affecting humanity across the planet. By avoiding the spectacular and consistently linking surface phenomena with deeper underlying realities, they articulate the tensions shaping the contemporary world.

The second part of this exhibition will be presented at the Canada Cultural Centre from February 12 to May 16, 2026.
